Introduction

The WebML Team at DEI, Politecnico di Milano and the Semantic Web Activities team at CEFRIEL succesfully partecipated to SWS Challenge.The challenge required the solution of a Web Service mediation problem and a Web Service discovery problem. The problems presented at the first SWSC workshop in Stanford were later changed to proof the flexibility of the initial submitted solutions. The problems description can be found on the SWS Challenge wiki. During the second SWSC workshop in Budva, submitted implementations were evaluated. The implementation presented by WebML team and Cefriel was judged the most complete one (Budva Evaluation). The last results of the evaluation process occurred in Stanford in November 2007 can be found here.

The mixed DEI-Cefriel team was composed by: Marco Brambilla, Irene Cellino, Stefano Ceri, Dario Cerizza, Emanuele Della Valle, Federico Michele Facca and Cristina Tziviskou. The full list of partecipants to the SWS Challenge can be found here.

We addressed the Web Service mediation problem designing a proper mediator with WebML, while for the discovery part we used the Glue discovery engine developed by Cefriel and we integrated it with WebML creating a proper Web interface.
